Osprey Kayaking Classes
The Nepal Expedition has coordinated an introductory kayak course with the Osprey Program, an organization committed to providing youth with a healthy and holistic approach to living. The Osprey Program is a section of the Phoenix Centre, the Kamloops Society for Alcohol and Drug Services. The pool based kayak course has been designed as a brief introductory to whitewater kayaking.
White water kayaking is more than just a sport it is a life altering experience and an amazing educational tool. Personal growth is inherent in kayaking, which is achieved through the mental and physical challenges individuals face. It is a sport with unlimited possibilities for anyone and everyone that tries it and the TRU Adventure Studies Department and the Nepal Expedition is working towards sharing the gift of kayaking with local youth from the Osprey Program.
This is the first time the TRU Adventure Studies Department has been able to organize a course with the Osprey Program. This partnership has created an amazing opportunity for everyone involved. The Nepal Expedition is proud to be a part of this program and would like to thank all of the staff involved at the Phoenix Centre.
